A WBHO Infrastructure and SRG Limited Joint Venture has won the $22.8m contract with Main Roads WA to construct Stage 2 of the Margaret River Perimeter Road.
The project will provide an alternate road for vehicles to bypass the town centre, delivering safety improvements and reducing congestion in Margaret River. Works will commence in September, with project completion scheduled for mid-2018.
The scope of works principally involves delivery of:
- Approximately 5.2 km of new perimeter road, from Rosa Brook Road to Bussell Highway north of town
- Construction of 2.3 km long John Archibald Drive
- A new entrance road to the airport
- A new road bridge over the Margaret River and footbridge on the Darch Trail.
The 50:50 joint venture will involve WBHO constructing the roadworks and SRG delivering the bridgeworks.
Commenting, WBHO’s Western Region Executive General Manager Will Grobler said:
“WBHO and SRG have teamed up to deliver this needed and critical piece of infrastructure for Margaret River.
“WBHO is proud to have delivered nbn telecommunications packages, resource projects and works for local councils since it established a presence in the South West region early last year and looks forward to continue working with local subcontractors and suppliers on a project that produces lasting benefits to the region.”
